Newtown Literary is a volunteer-run biannual of fiction, essays, and poetry. The journal is dedicated to showcasing voices from Queens, New York, although "Queens is just as much a state of mind as it is a geographic boundary", and submissions are occasionally accepted from elsewhere. Local writers are often invited to read their work at issue launch events.
"Pieces that juxtapose humor with grief, tell untold love stories, and replace cliché with innovation... in verse, out of verse, and/or experimental"
